Who we are
Campaign Filing Desk is operated by 1414618 B.C. Ltd., British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us at hello@campaignfilingdesk.ca.
If we emailed you
Elections BC publishes a list of registered candidates for the 2026 general local elections that gives each financial agent's address for service. If you gave an email address there, we used it, with the candidate's name, jurisdiction and office from the same list, to write to you about the campaign financing disclosure statement that the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act asks you to file. We use that list for nothing else, we do not copy anyone's postal address from it, and we do not buy email lists.
Reply "stop" to any email from us and we will not email you again. We keep a note of your address on a do-not-contact list so it stays that way.
What we hold
- Your name, role, email address and anything else in your messages or signature.
- The candidate's name, jurisdiction and office, from Elections BC's public list.
- If you hire us: the campaign records you send, such as bank statements, receipts and contribution records with contributors' names and residential addresses, and the statement we prepare from them.
This site has no forms, no cookies, no scripts and no tracking or analytics. Its fonts are served from this site, so your browser does not contact anyone else. Our web host may keep short-lived technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security.
Why we hold it
- To answer you and send a quote.
- To prepare and deliver the statement you ask for.
- To invoice and keep the business records the law requires.
We do not sell what you send us and we do not share it for anyone's marketing. Contributor details are used only to fill in the forms that require them. We share records only with the people working on your statement, such as a licensed auditor you have asked for, or when the law requires it.
Where it is kept
In our business email and file storage. Those providers may store data in Canada, the United States or other countries.
How long we keep it
- Emails and quotes: up to 24 months, then deleted, unless you become a client.
- Client invoices and our own business records: as long as Canadian tax and business record rules require, generally six years.
- Your campaign records: returned or deleted when the job is done, if you ask. The candidate keeps the originals, as the Act requires.
- Do-not-contact entries: kept so we never write to you again.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@campaignfilingdesk.ca and we will reply in writing.
