For financial agents of BC local election candidates

Your candidate's disclosure statement is due January 15. We prepare it for a fixed price.

You and the candidate review, sign and file. CA$450 to 750, quoted in writing before we start.

Send the candidate's name, jurisdiction and office. Within 2 business days you get a fixed price and the list of records we need.

What we do

One job: the disclosure statement, ready to sign

The statement is up to thirteen Elections BC forms. None of it is hard, but it takes hours: every deposit matched to a contributor, every receipt placed in the right period, every total tied to the bank. We do those hours for you.

  • Most campaigns

    BC disclosure statement

    CA$450 to 750

Every form your statement needs, filled in from your records, with totals checked against the bank and a short list of questions for you before signing.

    What is included

  • Ontario, due March 30, 2027

    With an auditor's report

    CA$1,500 to 3,500

Ontario candidates whose contributions or expenses pass $10,000 must file an auditor's report. We prepare the statement and hire a licensed auditor for your job. BC statements need no auditor's report.

    The filing checklist

    One page, PDF

Records to gather, money to close out, the forms in order, and how to sign and file. Use it whether or not you hire us.

How it works

Three steps, all by email

  1. Get a fixed quote

Tell us the candidate, the jurisdiction and roughly how many contributions and expenses there were. We send a fixed price and the list of records we need.

  2. Send your records

Campaign account statements, receipts and your contribution record. Scans, phone photos and spreadsheets are fine. Half the price is due when you order.

  3. Review, sign, file

You get the filled forms as one PDF, the bank tie-out and our questions. You and the candidate sign the cover page and you file. The other half is due on delivery.

Who does what

We prepare. You and the candidate sign and file.

What we do

  • Fill in every Elections BC form the statement needs, from your records.
  • Check every total against the campaign bank statements before it reaches you.
  • Split expenses between the election period and the campaign period by the date each item was used.
  • Check contributions against the 2026 limit and spending against your expense limit, and show you what we found.
  • List anything your records do not settle, with what we assumed, so you decide.

What we do not do

  • Sign or file. The candidate and financial agent sign; the agent files.
  • Contact Elections BC for you, or answer their questions in your place.
  • Give legal or accounting advice. Elections BC answers rule questions at 1-800-661-8683.
  • Audit. We are not a CPA firm. BC statements need no audit.

Built for financial agents and candidates for mayor, council, regional district, school board, Islands Trust, park board and local community commission. We are a private company, not part of Elections BC.

Questions

Questions financial agents ask

The candidate withdrew, or spent nothing. Do we still file?

Yes. Elections BC says a statement is needed even if the candidate withdrew, was acclaimed or had no financial transactions. If no money moved at all, the statement is the cover page and the summary, and the free checklist may be all you need.

Are you accountants or a CPA firm?

No. We are not a CPA firm, we do not audit and we give no opinion on your numbers. We prepare the statement from your records for your review and filing. BC disclosure statements do not need an auditor's report.

Do you file it for us?

No. The candidate and the financial agent sign the declaration on the cover page, and the agent files it, most easily through Elections BC's Secure Online Filing Application or by email. Our filing notes take you through it step by step.

Our records are a shoebox.

That is normal. We start from the campaign bank statements, because the bank keeps them, and work back to receipts and contributors. Anything missing goes on a short list with the simplest way to find it.

What if Elections BC has questions after we file?

Elections BC reviews statements after the deadline and may ask for a supplementary report, due within 30 days of its notice. If the reason is inside the work we did, we fix it free. You answer Elections BC yourself; we never contact them for you.

We act for several candidates on one slate.

Each campaign needs its own statement and its own campaign account. We quote each statement and send one quote for the set, so you can approve them together.

How do we pay?

Half when you order and half on delivery, by Interac e-Transfer or cheque, in Canadian dollars. We invoice the campaign or the candidate, as you prefer.
